Kent Saddlery was honoured to be involved in the International Day of Rural Women which was celebrated in style at the Cable Beach Club, Broome, WA, last Saturday, with the Inaugural Kimberley Pilbara Cattlemen’s Association (KPCA) Ladies Lunch proudly partnering with Landmark Broome. Many women travel substantial distances from right across the Kimberley and Pilbara, and even as far as Borneo, England and Perth to attend the Ladies Lunch.
The day was not only to pull together and celebrate the role of rural women, but also to raise much needed funds for a wonderful cause, the Isolated Children’s Parents’ Association.
The day was enjoyed immensely by all. It was clear the highlight was hearing Sally Sara talk as the keynote speaker. Ms Sara’s lengthy career with ABC as an award winning Foreign Correspondent is beyond impressive. She spent twelve years reporting from all around the world, and has reported from more than 30 countries including Iraq, Lebanon, Sierra Leone, Sudan and Zimbabwe. In 2013 she joined the Foreign Correspondent program as their reporter based in Afghanistan, and she has also been a senior regional and rural affairs correspondent based in Sydney.
Kent Saddlery was pleased to be involved with the event by offering Sally a personal gift on behalf of the KPCA.
