“Gunbalanya” Arnhem Land, NT
These Gunbalanya men are some of the workers involved in an ILC initiative to re-establish a cattle venture in the Kunbarllanjnja tribal lands. A positive and enthusiastic mood is evident at the temporary station complex on the outskirts of the town of Oenpelli, where Jay and Anna Gook (formally from Soudan Station on the Barkly) are managing the venture, and thriving on the challenge.
The country on Oenpelli is absolutely beautiful. Sights and sounds abound. Situated alongside Kakadu National park, in Arnhem Land, …. lush wetlands, dramatic escarpments, abundant bird life, and the largely unseen presence of crocodiles.
The workers were keen to equip themselves with the appropriate work gear including belts.
