Snowy River Horseback

‘Nowhere else in the mountains will you access such an amazing variety of riding country, alpine vegetation and wildlife and yet return each night to unsurpassed comfort…’

In its eleventh season of operation with owners Glen Dixon and Danielle Ternes, Snowy River Horseback Adventure celebrates the opening of a new purpose built guest wing which further separates this standout business from the competition. Over the past ten years Glen and Danielle have built a reputation for quality, unsurpassed in the field of horseback trekking. Guests enjoy some of the best riding country Australia has to offer in the Snowy Mountains of NSW.

Glen and Danielle also operate an Australian Stock Horse Stud ‘Snowy Mountains Stock Horses’, and breed and train their own horses for competition (campdrafting) and trekking. They have a wonderful range of well educated horses to suit riders of varying ability, and gain great satisfaction in promoting the wonderful Australian Stock Horse to both overseas guests and fellow Australians.

It is our goal to create a range of experiences that can satisfy the experienced horseperson and give an appropriate introduction to the novice.

Glen and Danielle are now also offering self contained winter/ski holiday accommodation at Old Ingebirah Farmstay.

Glen and Danielle talk about Kent Saddlery;
“We have been privileged to form an association with Kent Saddlery.” Danielle continues, “We first met Lyle and Helen on a trip to the Snowy Mountains around five years ago. Lyle then made Glen a saddle and we were impressed with how he listened to what we needed in a saddle, and came out to see the conditions we would be using it in. Lyle and his team have continued to offer us a first rate service in making gear that suits our requirements; they have made big saddles for big riders, fenders with more of an English hang to them for the English or dressage riders, Slimline Southern Drafters that riders love, and are nice saddles to throw on and off horses, and a saddle for our son Danny (six) that he is so proud of and that I can be confident will give him every chance to be safe on his horse. In all the saddles we have, the quality is consistent.
We are able to swap saddles to suit riders and not have horses with sore backs. The saddles look good, the workmanship is fantastic and we know the gear will not let us down.

I know I can ring Kent Saddlery with a specific request or a gear requirement, and they will help me find the right product for the job, and get it to me quickly at a really competitive price. Many of our guests have never ridden in a stock or fender saddle before. We need our saddles to be comfortable while giving riders some added security in riding rough terrain. We have been very happy to see how our guests have enthused about the Kent Saddles after riding in them, with many going on to purchase one for themselves after thoroughly ‘road’ testing them! We find Kent Saddles ideal for everything from riding young horses, pleasure and trail riding through to competition. Innovative design (most of our saddles feature the Equaliser cable rigging), a stylish product, thorough workmanship and an affordable price tag are just some the things they have got right! It is always a pleasure to talk to and do business with the team at Kent Saddlery!”
