Kent Saddlery were honoured to sponsor the NT Ladies Lunch, part of the annual NT Cattlemens Association two day Conference held in Alice Springs on 17 and 18 March. Sally Courtney attended the conference on behalf of Kent Saddlery. It was a good opportunity to introduce Helen Kent’s book and we donated a copy of the book as a door prize.
The lunch was attended by company representatives and numerous station women from the NT, (100 in total) many who know Lyle and Helen due to their annual visits every year.

The winner of the book was Mrs Marie Hardy, the NT Administrators wife. She had just left the lunch therefore Bernadette Burke (pictured above right) accepted the book on her behalf.
Sally met Mrs Hardy later that day, and she was thrilled with winning the book, considering she is a great fan of station history.
Sally had enjoyed reading about Tom Shephard and his partner Cameillia Armstrong in “Stories of Australian Country People”, so she was pleased to also be able to meet Tom at the NT Cattlemens Association Conference.
