On our first visit to Iffley in 1994 we thought we dreamed we were in the cavalry when we were startled out of sleep by a penetrating trumpet trevalli . However it was a very effective amplified tape which let everyone know it was time to get out of bed!
Iffley is situated between Julia Creek and Normanton, QLD and in managed by Clint and Heidi Smith who have 3 sons, Sam, Hugh and Archie. We first met Clint and Heidi at Alexandria Station NT. Their friendship, and openess and great sense of humour impressed us, and they haven’t changed! They love being at Iffley and we love to visit there and appreciate their warm welcome. (The bougainvilleas in the North of Australia are magnificent, and Iffley has some beauties.)
