“Stories of Australian Country People” officially launched by Lawrence Springborg MP
What a fantastic evening under the marquee at Kent Saddlery on Friday (18th March) evening when Helen Kent’s Book “Stories of Australian Country People” was officially launched by Lawrence Springborg MP, Member for Southern Downs. The storm that passed over half way through the launch did not dampen anybody’s spirit, and a great night was had by all.
Lyle and Helen Kent were honoured to have guest speaker Ross Peatling, Ross’s wife Robyn Peatling, and some of the people featured in Helen Kent’s coffee table book, and it was a treat to hear about and meet some of these Aussie Heroes.
Back row: Lyle Kent, Ross Peatling, Robyn Peatling, Joanne Francis, Helen Kent.
Front row: Ernie Draheim, Peggy Draheim, Graham Morton, Maree Morton, Ina Francis.
Angie Snell attended the evening and commented on Facebook:
“Fantastic night at the book launch, even if it did get a little wet! Was wonderful to meet some of the people who feature in the book. Sadly I had to run off before I had a chance to congratulate Helen. But she should be very proud of what’s she has done. It’s so important to recognise some of the outback heroes of our time who’ll now one day be spoken about like we speak of those icons of the past. Congratulations on your first book, I hope we get to see more in the future!”
Thank you!
