Once Ben had made up his mind to give cattle station work a go, he logged onto the Kent Saddlery website and accessed the Working as a Ringer article. He purchased the recommended items and arrived at Flora Valley with appropriate work gear. He commented further that the Kent Saddlery website is “easy to access and provides useful, practical information.”
“Sink or Float”
At twenty-one years of age, Ben Hart, a livestock and property agent, had over forty clients on his books. He’d left school at fifteen, acquired his Livestock and Property Agents licence and had worked in and around Wagga Wagga N.S.W for five and a half years. As he launched into the competitive field of expertise he was told “You’ll either sink or float.” With a grin he says, “I floated.” At Flora Valley Station Ben remains convinced that it was a wise move to try something new. “I love it up here. I’d like to spend a few years Outback and maybe further down the track, I’ll start up my own business.”
