Bombers Bit, Fulmer Loose Ring Barrel
$215.00A conventional Snaffle joint has a nut cracker action, which means it will bear pressure on the horse’s bars and the tongue. The Barrel joint limits the nut cracker action and spreads the usual pressure over a larger area. When the rein is used this mouthpiece wraps across the tongue creating tongue pressure and taking pressure off the bars due to the lock up action.
Please note appearances may be deceiving; this bit joint is stronger than the Elliptical. Because the joint is smaller pressure is more concentrated on the tongue.

Bombers Bit, Kimberley Dee McHardy 130
$210.00The Kimberley Dee cheekpiece prevents pinching of the lips and gives a solid feel against the side of the face. It also prevents the bit being pulled through the mouth. The release is slower than a Loose Ring and also introduces some poll pressure. The Kimberley Dee McHardy would be a good place to start if a horse is exhibiting any of the following:
- Shaking it’s head
- Tongue trying to escape the bit
- Sensitive tongue
- Distance between rings – 130mm. (5 1/8 inches)
The McHardy was designed to deal with these behaviours. It has a medium port creating space for the tongue and so relieving pressure. The Buster Roller in the middle increases bar pressure and as a result lifts the horse’s head giving more control.

Radio Pouch / UHF holster – Solid Leather, Shoulder Style
$198.00A Kent Saddlery unique and practical Shoulder Style Radio Pouch is usually strapped to the right shoulder. When riding a bike or four wheeler the left hand is then free to access the radio controls. If preferred, left shoulder pouches are also available.
The radio fits securely into the custom designed pouch, which guarantees effective communication and eliminates the need to remove the radio from the pouch. The leather shoulder strap features 14 ventilation holes and distinctive stainless steel victoria roller buckles allow the sturdy PVC straps to be adjusted to length.

**WEBBING ‘DOOVALACKY’ PULLER
Many workers on cattle stations strap on their radio pouch first thing in the morning and don’t take it off until they have a shower at night. Each radio needs to be charged overnight and without the “Doovalacky” puller, radios are frequently pulled out of pouches by the aerial, and there’s a strong risk that the aerial can be pulled right off!
Some years ago, (Don’t ask how many!) Neville Dahl of Sophie Downs Station, WA, recognised the problem and suggested that we should attach a piece of leather lace across the bottom of the pouch and reaching to the top. When pulled from the top the radio would then ‘pop out’ of the pouch. We took Neville’s great idea, modified it a bit and now on all Kent Saddlery Radio Pouches it’s a standard feature.

Bombers Bit, Loose Ring Tube Buster Roller
$198.00The Loose Ring Tube cheekpieces lies flat against the horse’s face giving a more solid feel against the side of the face, while preventing lip pinching and the bit being pulled through the mouth. The mouthpiece is quite fixed in the mouth and concentrates pressure on the bars. However the loose rings allow for a quick release.
The Buster Roller link in the middle is shortened to 40mm which increases bar and tongue pressure making the bit sharper than conventional link bits. The increased pressure on the bar will lift the head and the roller will increase pressure on the tongue bringing the chin in. Best suited for a horse with a low head carriage and one which leans on the bit.

Bombers Bit, Fulmer Loose Ring, Control Plate
$198.00The Fulmer cheekpiece, has the same effect as the traditional Eggbutt and prevents pinching on the sides of the mouth. The extended pins above and below the bit, prevent the bit being pulled through the mouth and have the effect of guiding the horses head which is great for schooling and training purposes.
The Loose Rings make the bit less fixed in the mouth, which encourages mouthing and acceptance of the bit, while retaining the turning advantages of the full cheek.
The Bombers Control Plate is set at 45° to follow the contour of the horses tongue. Consequently, a horse who uses his tongue as a means of pushing against the bit and therefore taking control, will draw back and tuck his chin in, coming back to a better point of control for the rider/trainer. This differs from a Dr Bristol which sits horizontally with the edge of the plate on the tongue.

The Colin Miles is a great schooling bit with a 55mm centre piece creating greater tongue pressure and reducing bar pressure. The rings give the horse something to play with and help to keep the horses attention on the bit.
